Washington State net metering law requires utilities to allow home and business owners to interconnect solar, wind and micro hydroelectric systems to the grid and receive full retain credit, reelected on your power bill, for all power generated. This can result in “turning the meter backward” building a bank account of energy credits to use when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing.
